Job overview

Global Head of User Generated Content, Tes

Want to improve how teachers all over the world share lessons?

Tes is seeking a ‘Global Head of User Generated Content’ to lead a new team based in Sheffield city centre, with the goal of lifting the quality of teaching materials found by educators.

The primary focus of this role is to manage and develop this team, which will be responsible for driving usage of Tes Resources, the world’s largest lesson-sharing website. The team’s methods for increasing such usage include curating teaching materials, developing structures, implementing quality control measures and writing content that supports teachers to help them create and find the most valuable free and premium materials.

Success in this role will involve instilling the new team with a clear sense of purpose, coordinating their activities, and developing and executing data-driven, cross-functional strategies.

The key measures of success will be acquisition and retention, measured around the usage of free material as well as paid. We are deeply proud of the high numbers of Open Educational Resources on our site, and wish to grow those further. But the team will also be expected to support the ecommerce wing of Resources, as a key goal is to make the platform self-sustainable.

Other measures of success of this role will be expected to include: overall growth of the Tes library through both existing and new authors; alignment of the Tes library with teacher demand, while ensuring high customer satisfaction levels; and increases in the new authors who list and successfully sell on Tes.

Reporting to the director of Tes Resources, the new Global Head Of User Generated Content will also work with the separate teams responsible for product and marketing.
