The College

Marlborough College Malaysia opened in 2012 and is a British day and boarding school for pupils aged 3-18 years. The school currently comprises a Pre-Prep, Preparatory and Senior School and is situated in 90 acres in the Iskandar region of Malaysia, close to Singapore and Johor Bahru. There are six boarding Houses, (4 boys and 2 girls), 4 Senior (13-18yrs) and 2 Junior (10-12yrs).

The School is a genuine expansion of Marlborough College in the UK and is managed and governed by a number of people who have a strong association with Marlborough.

Introduction to the Role

The Master is looking for a highly motivated recent music graduate who interested in gaining teaching and musician experience within a prestigious school setting. Assisting with lessons, tuition, performances, supervision and boarding, all done with trained and experienced teams of Marlborough staff, will provide great opportunities for candidates to build skills, confidence and networks. Graduate Assistants will be employed for the whole of the academic year and will benefit from teachers’ holidays and exeats. This is a fixed term position until July 2020 and successful applicants will need to be available for induction and orientation from mid-August 2019.  

Remuneration 

Board and Lodging

The College will provide graduate assistants with an apartment in the staff condominium; this consists of a bedroom with a double bed, wardrobe storage, a private shower and toilet and an open-plan living room with a small kitchenette. Apartments are all air-conditioned. In addition, the condominium has a common room with a large kitchen and dining area, a television and social area, washing machines and an outdoor deck with seating and barbecue. The College will provide all meals during term-time. You will have full use of your accommodation during the holidays as well as during term. All utility bills are covered and medical insurance will be provided. 

As well as working in a beautiful and collegial environment, the Graduate Assistant at Marlborough College Malaysia will benefit from a monthly stipend, relocation assistance, a rent-free home and private medical insurance.
