Sherborne Girls is seeking to appoint a graduate with an interest in working with young people, to join the school as a Graduate Assistant Chaplain for the academic year 2021-22. The successful applicant will be a practicing Christian, committed to regular prayer and keen to support and nurture young people in their faith.
The job is designed to give an opportunity to gain experience of living and working in a boarding school environment and may suit a graduate exploring full time Christian ministry/youth work or teaching perhaps prior to embarking on a PGCE, or to taking up a full-time Christian ministry role. It will also include an opportunity to participate in a coach mentoring and development programme.
The principal role of the Graduate Assistant Chaplain will be to contribute to Support the Chaplain in promoting Spirituality and Faith within the School. This will be molded to suit the needs of the School and the skills of the successful candidate, however, there will be opportunities to engage in any aspects of School life in which the Graduate Assistant Chaplain has an interest.

The Assistant Chaplain will reflect Christian spirituality to the community of Sherborne Girls but must have a strong appreciation of, and respect for, all faiths in our diverse and inclusive community. Engagement is vital and the successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to engage and support the whole community.
