Job overview
We are now looking to appoint a graduate or undergraduate who is considering a career in teaching and is seeking an in-school experience. Working as part of a highly effective SEND department, this would provide the ideal opportunity as a taster and a possible gateway experience to teaching especially for those with a Maths or Science degree. Training and support will be provided. The post is offered on a fixed term contract for one academic year.
We are looking for individuals who set themselves high personal standards and who are keen to develop professionally. The successful applicant will put the experience of the child at the heart of their practice; someone eager to extend young people’s learning and promote the spiritual, moral, cultural, emotional and social development of our students and the community life.
Candidates must have a willingness to play a full part in the extra-curricular life of the College and be in sympathy with its Catholic ethos. In return we offer an attractive salary and benefits package including free lunches and car parking, use of the Fitness Suite and longer school holiday periods including a two-week break in October.
St Columba’s College is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All post holders will be required to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the role, including reference checks with past employers, online background checks, and the Disclosure & Barring Service.
