Job overview
We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic graduate to join our existing team in January. This is a fixed term internship between January 2017 and July 2017. This role is residential, within a girls’ boarding house.
The role would suit a graduate considering a future career in education or candidates with previous experience of working with children in a pastoral or outdoor environment. You will, first and foremost, be an energetic sportsperson and an experienced Netball, Tennis player or Athlete, ideally with some coaching qualifications. Experience of strength and conditioning would also be advantageous.
The ability to work as part of a team is vital, as you will work closely with the Director of Sport and the Head of Girls’ Sport, as well as all other staff involved in coaching and managing teams in both the Senior and Junior Schools.
Looking to broaden your experience of working with young people in a residential educational environment, you will primarily be appointed to work in a coaching and pastoral role; however, there may be opportunities to gain some experience of teaching depending on your individual interests, skills and enthusiasms.
Flexibility and a willingness to be involved with a variety of activities are essential, as is sound judgment, excellent communication skills, plenty of stamina and a good sense of humour!
