Are you a keen, qualified graduate looking to enter a career in Education and Teaching?

Seaford College has an exciting, 3-year progressive vacancy for an excellent Graduate Teacher Trainee.

This role would suit a Graduate with a keen commitment to teaching who is hoping to progress from Trainee through to Qualified Teacher with QTS.

With an excellent degree in a key subject such as Maths, English, Science or Physical Education [all other subjects will be considered] you will have the ability to coach games [Rugby, Cricket, Hockey, Netball] as well as developing your teaching skills, gain confidence and immerse yourself within the ethos of Seaford College.

As a boarding school with circa 850 students, you will have the opportunity for involvement in all aspects of college life including development of your skills within the classroom, boarding, extra-curricular and of course games, together with drama, dance and music among others. You will become involved with our exciting internal and external events, fixtures and trips during term time and some during the holidays.

Accommodation is available on site within a stunning setting on the South Downs.

Summary: 

Year 1: Coaching Games and other whole School experience – including teaching experience in the key subject being offered.

Year 2: Teacher Training to complete PCGE and obtain QTS. Fully funded by the School.

Year 3: NQT year in chosen subject

Prep School students benefit from the fantastic facilities of the Senior School, having specialist teachers in core subjects and mentoring from older students.

In the Senior School, students take part in two Carousels – a Creative Carousel and an Academic Carousel – before choosing their GCSE options, allowing them to make informed decisions about the subjects that interest them the most.

Students moving from our Senior School to the Sixth Form have great continuity, with their teachers helping them to choose A Level subjects that may help them with any particular career or university aims. We also ensure that students in our Sixth Form are given greater independence and responsibilities, creating an environment to help prepare them for university and life beyond school, including a separate boarding house for Year 13s.
