Dean Close is a co-educational, day and boarding school, set in a beautiful 50-acre site on the edge of Cheltenham town and currently has 500 pupils between the ages of 13-18. Founded in 1886, the School has a strong Christian ethos and greatly values its positive environment and good relations between staff and pupils. Situated on the site are the Senior, Preparatory and Pre-Preparatory schools which share many of the fantastic facilities on offer, including a £3m Sports Hall, purpose-built Music and Art Schools, water-based astro pitches and a 550-seat professional theatre.

Reporting to: Deputy Head Pastoral.  The School is seeking to appoint three enthusiastic post-graduate students, who are considering a career in teaching. Induction training will be held in August, and the posts will run for one academic year from September 2021 until July 2022.

This post requires full weekly, evening and weekend commitments during term-time, however 24hrs time off will be provided during the week.

There are substantial holidays at Christmas, Easter and in the summer in addition to Half Term weeks and some Exeat weekends.

Dean Close would seek to support GTAs who are interested in pursuing a Graduate Teaching Programme with a recognised institution, if the subject choice can be accommodated.
