GROUNDS AND MAINTENANCE PERSON – PART TIME/ TEMPORARY
(15 hours per week for 2019)
St Mary’s Primary School, Grafton has a position available for a suitably qualified and experienced Grounds and Maintenance person to ensure the proper maintenance and operation of the school grounds, buildings and property, and to ensure that systems are operating effectively. The successful applicant will be required to commence February 2019.
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
- Commitment to work in harmony with Catholic Values and Principles;
- Ability to work as part of a team;
- Current NSW Driver’s Licence;
- Extensive trades and maintenance experience;
- Knowledge of maintenance systems and equipment, including building and grounds;
- Knowledge of OHS legislation and procedures,
- Valid NSW Working with Children Check;
DESIRABLE CRITERIA
- Tradesman qualifications (e.g. Building, electrical, plumbing, metal working);
- Experience as a grounds and maintenance coordinator.
CONDITIONS
The position is 15 hours. This position will be remunerated in accordance with the School Operational Services Stream (NSW & ACT Catholic Systemic Schools) Enterprise Agreement 2017 as a Maintenance/Outdoor Employee.

About St Mary’s Primary School GRAFTON
St Mary's Primary School is an independent Roman Catholic primary school teaching pupils of mixed gender between kindergarten and year 6. It is located in the city of Grafton in New South Wales, Australia. Around 175 students are enrolled at the school and there are 13 members of teaching staff.
The school operates under the Lismore Diocese school system and is proud to carry on the traditional Catholic teaching which started back in 1868 in Grafton.

St Mary's has flexible learning spaces, with classrooms integrated with interactive whiteboards, computers, iPads and Netbooks – all supported by the school's Wireless Access Network. There is a canteen at the school open on Mondays and Fridays, and there is also a well-resourced library.
A variety of sporting opportunities are open to pupils. These include cricket, tennis, swimming, cross country, hockey, athletics, soccer and rugby, and competitions are open to pupils who excel in these sports and more.
Curriculum
The school teaches the six Key Learning Areas (KLAs) of English, science and technology, mathematics, human society and its environment, creative and practical arts, and personal development, health and physical Education. These are taught in accordance with the Board of Studies, Teaching and Educational Standards (BOSTES) syllabus.
Religion is taught under the Diocesan Religious Education Guidelines and all KLAs adhere to the Australian Curriculum.
