Sacred Heart Primary is seeking a Groundsperson with a genuine passion for their work to deliver a range of services for the upkeep, maintenance, and development our school grounds. 

Duties include:
•    Landscaping and lawn work and maintaining clean and tidy school,
•    Routine trade and non-trade maintenance and repairs,
•    Providing feedback into planning, preparing and development of school grounds,
•    Liaise with various internal and external personnel on issues of lost property and damage to facilities,
•    Assist with setting up significant school events, and
•    Compliance with workplace health and safety requirements. 

You will have previous experience in a groundskeeping role, ideally in a school environment and display strong customer service skills. You will also have a good work ethic and seek to achieve quality work whilst maintaining the highest level of safety.

To be eligible to be considered for this role you will:

  • hold a Paid Employee Positive Notice Blue Card prior to commencement;
  • be eligible to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment; and
  • have a commitment to and understanding of the ethos and traditions of Catholic Education.

Weeks worked:  School term weeks only (holidays unpaid)

Tenure duration (where Fixed Term)

Total Paid Hours (per week) & days required: 3 days per week (Days to be negotiated)

Salary level, range or hourly rate: Services Staff Level 2 - $29.35 per hour

Employment conditions: Diocesan Catholic Education Employing Authorities in Queensland Single Interest Agreement
