Description St Clare’s High School, Taree is seeking the services of a permanent part-time Groundsperson for 20 hours per week. Commencing at the end of January 2020.

St Clare's was established in 1971 as a systemic, coeducational, regional high school catering for students from Taree, Forster/Tuncurry, Wingham, Bulahdelah, Krambach/Nabiac and Gloucester parishes. It continues a tradition of quality secondary education in the Manning/Great Lakes Region which commenced in 1926, at Taree, by the Sisters of St Joseph.

St Clare’s excellent standing in the local community and its consistently high academic results are directly attributable to the positive relationships staff form with students.
Position Requirements • Perform maintenance tasks unsupervised


• Manage the school's maintenance program


• Manage and maintain the grounds


• Maintain school buildings


• Comply with security provisions


• Have an understanding of the ethos of a Catholic school


• Have an understanding of WHS requirements


• Willingness to Comply or Compliance with the CSO Accreditation to Work, Teach and Lead 2018 - formerly the Faith Education Accreditation (FEA) Policy 2012;


• Current Accreditation at Category A – Accreditation to Work or willingness/working towards this accreditation.

About St Clare's High School

St Clare’s High School is a mixed, secondary, independent, mainstream, Roman Catholic high school in Taree, New South Wales. The school has approximately 740 pupils enrolled and caters to students between Year 7 and Year 12.

St Clare’s High School was founded in 1926, overseen by the Sisters of St Joseph, Lochinvar, and initially only catered to secondary school students. Due to its growing student population it opened a new secondary school, Rosary High, in 1962. A third building was built on the present site and was called Taree Catholic High School. In 1986, the school was renamed St Clare’s High School.

Facilities at Clare's include a learning centre, covered outdoor learning area and basketball courts. The school puts technology first with internet access and computers a must-have.

Curriculum

The curriculum prepares pupils for the award of the Record of School Achievement and the Higher School Certificate according to regulations outlined by the BOASTES. R.E. is compulsory for all years and is supplemented by the key learning areas: English, maths, science, HSIE, technology, languages and P.E. In Year 11 and 12, pupils work toward their HSC examination while VET courses are also offered. Extra-curriculars include choir, band, sports and the creative and performing arts.
