Brisbane Catholic Education (BCE) welcomes expressions of interest from recent graduates and experienced Guidance Counsellors with experience in a school or education environment. We have various opportunities available within our 145+ schools across the Archdiocese of Brisbane. BCE schools cover a broad geographical area of south-east Queensland – from Wide Bay, the Burnett region, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast and throughout Brisbane – there is an opportunity near you.

About the role:
  • Facilitate proactive and preventative practices and initiatives that promote social, emotional and educational development and the mental health and wellbeing of all students in partnership with school communities
  • Manage counselling and consulting services for students (with personal, social, emotional, vocational and educational needs) with a focus on prevention, intervention and student learning
  • Provide psycho-educational and other assessments
  • Ensure BCE protocols and quality processes for student protection, educating students with disabilities, behaviour support, the containment of critical incidents and mandatory record keeping are implemented
  • Maintain standards of practice that are consistent with registration boards and membership of professional associations


About you:
  • have full registration as a Teacher with QCT plus completed Masters specialising in school guidance and counselling; AND/OR have full registration as a Psychologist with AHPRA;
  • have a commitment to and understanding of the ethos and traditions of Catholic Education; and
  • be eligible to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment.
