Maltings Academy is graded ‘Outstanding’ and has a state of the art new building offering fantastic facilities for both students and staff alike. We have a committed team and have been very successful at developing teachers and leaders with progression both within and beyond the academy.
We are looking for a Teacher or Instructor of Hairdressing and/or Beauty. You will join an academy where all colleagues play their part and contribute to whole school improvement. If you embody these values and have high expectations, you will be very successful working with us. This is a fixed term role until 31/08/2018 initially due to curriculum need.
We operate a 2-weekly timetable with 5 lessons per day. This role is 13 lessons per fortnight 0.26 FTE) which includes PPA (Planning Preparation & Assessment):
- Monday Week A period 1-4 and Monday
- Week B period 2-4
- Tuesdays (both weeks) period 3-5.
We are looking for:
- Energy and enthusiasm to deliver lessons that will engage, enthuse and motivate our learners to achieve the best possible outcomes.
- A drive for continuous improvement to help maintain an outstanding hairdressing department.
- Relevant qualifications and a record of professional development (both formal and through appropriate experience) to meet the challenge of the job specification.
- A genuine commitment to making a positive contribution to the academy.

We work closely with our sister academy, New Rickstones Academy, also in Witham. Although this role is based at Maltings Academy, all new staff contracts are to work across both academies.
