Brighton College Abu Dhabi is seeking an inspirational, charismatic and ambitious Head for September 2021 or January 2022, to lead the school during the next exciting phase of its development. The College offers exciting professional challenges for an educational leader who shares our aim of developing well-educated, respectful and intellectually curious young men and women who are ready to take a full, active and positive role in our world. Our teachers understand the values of a British independent school with parents who expect the highest educational standards and pupils who are very motivated to learn.

We are looking for a Head with the energy to lead a world-class academic institution, with the full and active support of Brighton College UK.

The successful candidate will have strong leadership experience with a track record of delivering academic excellence, which is supported by the three main pillars of curiosity, confidence and kindness – essential to the success of any Brighton College. Creativity, innovation and a track record of effective school strategy should also be evidenced in any application and interview process. The new Head of Brighton College Abu Dhabi, like all other Heads within the Brighton College family, will be expected to lead with authenticity, purpose and a deep-seated commitment to the progress and development of each and every pupil within the school.

Brighton College Abu Dhabi opened in 2011 and has since developed a reputation as one of the top schools in the region, with waiting lists in most year groups. Brighton College, the UK’s top co-educational school, has an additional four schools around the world: Brighton College Al Ain (2013), Brighton College Bangkok (2016), Brighton College Dubai (2018) and Brighton College Singapore (2020).

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree with PGCE is essential
  • NPQH or master’s in education preferred
  • A minimum of ten years’ experience in education with a minimum of five years in senior leadership positions

Long list interviews will take place on Tuesday 26th and Friday 29th January 2021. Shortlist interviews will take place at Brighton College in the UK or Brighton College Abu Dhabi, on Tuesday 9th February 2021.

The College reserves the right to appoint a successful candidate prior to the closing date and so an early application is advantageous.

Mixed state school Brighton College Abu Dhabi educates around 1,650 pupils aged between three and 18 across its Pre-Prep, Prep and Senior schools. A Sixth Form (Year 12) opened in September 2014. Based on Abu Dhabi Island in a purpose-built campus next to Khalifa Park the has 144 academic staff and more than 100 support staff. It was the first of Brighton College UK’s sister schools in the United Arab Emirates, joined in September 2013 by Brighton College Al Ain.
