An exciting opportunity to take a unique restaurant to the next stage of its journey to excellence whilst working with budding chefs of the future.  


We are looking for a creative and innovative Head Chef for our commercial restaurant in our award-winning Roundhouse campus.  


As Head Chef you will translate the concept and ideals of the restaurant into a successfully operating kitchen, ensuring the highest possible food preparation, cooking, hygiene and service standards are consistently delivered in line with meeting budgetary requirements.  


The successful applicant will have experience of fine dining, classic and modern cuisine and a proven track record within hospitality and catering for high profile events.  


You will demonstrate a passion for exceptional food and service as well as a scrupulous approach to food hygiene and health and safety. Your knowledge of current food trends and contemporary cuisine will enable you to create the ethos of the restaurant and drive forward its success.

Derby College is a large general further education college with four sites in or near the city of Derby. It supports around 26,000 learners, who choose from more than 1,000 full-time and part-time apprenticeship, A-level, BTEC and NVQ courses.   

Derby College was established as a single institution in 2002 by merging three further education colleges: Mackworth Tertiary College, Wilmorton Tertiary College and Broomfield Agricultural College. A merger between South East Derbyshire College and Derby College was approved in 2010. Heavy investment has been made by the college in its teaching and learning facilities, from the fully equipped teaching kitchens at the Roundhouse campus to the high-tech science labs at the Joseph Wright Centre and the Equestrian Centre at the Broomfield Hall campus.
