Fettes College, one of the UK’s pre-eminent independent schools, and Bright Scholar, the largest operator of international and bilingual K-12 schools in China, seek an inspirational Founding Head to launch and lead Fettes College Guangzhou. Opening in the Zengcheng District of Guangzhou in September 2020, this exciting new venture will bring the Fettes ethos to the Guangzhou area, one of China’s largest and most dynamic cities.

A co-educational boarding and day school with capacity for 2,394 pupils aged 2 to 18, Fettes College Guangzhou will blend the holistic approach and boarding ethos of Fettes with the vibrancy of modern China, offering an exceptional educational experience characterised by academic, sporting and cultural excellence and opportunity.

The successful candidate will combine a track record of highly successful leadership experience, developed in the UK or internationally, with the cultural awareness and commercial mindset to create and inspire a new school community. Excellent communication skills with the charisma to act as a compelling ambassador for this new school are crucial. A genuine resonance with holistic education and boarding, preferably gained through experience, is highly desirable.
