Moorfield School is a successful, independent, co-educational IAPS prep school with pupils from Nursery to Year 6, situated in the beautiful town of Ilkley with enviable views across the Wharfe Valley. It is a warm and vibrant school which maintains a nurturing environment while at the same time achieving high standards and outstanding academic successes.  The school is non-selective and its strong ethos has threaded its way through the school’s history encouraging kindness, confidence and care for others.  

Founded in 1930, Moorfield moved to its present site in 1960.  Careful investment by the Governors over many decades has resulted in an impressive building and grounds.  Our most recent ISI inspection in June 2017 found this school to be fully compliant with all current regulations.  

Our child-led approach to our youngest pupils has a ringing endorsement from professional external moderators.  All Year 6 children proceed confidently to their first choice of senior school.  

Moorfield School is an exciting place to work. The loyal and dedicated staff is well supported by a proactive Governing Body.  The Governors are seeking to appoint an inspirational Head to lead the school through the next stage of its development.
