The Hampshire School Chelsea is a leading co-educational independent preparatory school for pupils aged three to eleven, housed in an Old Chelsea Library just off the King’s Road in London. The School was founded in 1928 by the visionary artist, teacher and celebrated actress, June Hampshire, as an academically ambitious school with roots in the performing arts. Proud of its long-held track record of academic success, the School supports its pupils to gain places at some of the leading senior schools in London and further afield.

Bellevue is now seeking to appoint a new Head for The Hampshire School to succeed Pamela Edmonds in September 2022. The next Head will lead the School with vision, inspiration and a deep sense of care for this diverse and inclusive school community. Following recent structural changes, the School is now primed for a period of growth alongside the consolidation of its many strengths. With the full support of Bellevue, The Hampshire School now looks ahead with confidence as it further establishes its position as one of the leading preparatory schools of London. 

Applications are encouraged from ambitious senior leaders ready to make the step up to headship within a supportive and empowering governance structure. Experience gained in a competitive marketplace in, or around, London would be advantageous. Candidates based internationally and interested in a return to the U.K. will be given serious consideration despite travel restrictions which may be in place.
