An outstanding graduate is sought to become Head of the London Academy of Excellence, a selective Free School sixth form in Newham. The school was named by the Sunday Times as the Sixth Form College of the Year for 2015-16.

The LAE opened in September 2012, and is sponsored by a range of leading independent schools. It exists to teach facilitating subjects to A-level, and to support its pupils in applications to leading universities in the UK and around the world. Academic results are exceptional. In January 2017, 20 pupils secured offers from the universities of Oxford and Cambridge.

The successful applicant will have a good honours degree, a track record of successful teaching, and significant leadership experience, for example as a Head, Deputy or Assistant Head. He or she will be adept at working in a team and communicating with students, staff, parents, and the institutions from which pupils come, and to which they progress.

The Head will be able to lead this innovative, thriving and ambitious institution with vision and authority. He or she will be energetic in entrenching the outstanding reputation of this new school, and communicating this in both the local community and the wider educational world.
