Head of Academic

Required for September 2019

Applications are invited from skilled and dedicated teachers with excellent qualifications and experience for the post of Head of Academic at St Cedd’s School from September 2019. The post offers the opportunity to lead the learning in one of the most reputable 3-11 independent preparatory schools in Essex. The Head of Academic has responsibility for ensuring progression and high standards are achieved and maintained throughout the school from our youngest Pre-School learners to our 11+ leavers in Year 6. The Head of Academic is a member of the Senior Leadership Team alongside the Head, Bursar, Deputy Head and Head of Pastoral, and will have the opportunity to make a difference at both a strategic and day-to-day level in a thriving preparatory school. This post would suit both experienced leaders and those looking for their first senior role in a school.

The successful applicant will have a desire to ensure that every child achieves their individual best in the classroom throughout their time at St Cedd’s School and will facilitate this through successful leadership of Heads of Departments, ensuring progression throughout the different curricula in school, and by being a model classroom practitioner and ‘champion’ for learning across the entire age range.

A full application pack is available from the ‘Vacancies’ section of our School website (www.stcedds.org.uk ), by contacting the Head’s PA via email (alatham@stcedds.org.uk ) or by telephone on 01245 392810. Applications should be addressed to the Head, Mr Matthew Clarke.
