Gresham’s offers a rare opportunity where children can join us at our Nursery and Pre-Prep from the age of 2 and continue with their education at our Prep and Senior Schools.

Gresham’s is looking to appoint a highly skilled musician into the role of Head of Academic Music.  Gresham’s has a distinguished, thriving musical life, and is ambitious in its musical aspirations.

The school is completing the construction of a new £5.5 million state-of-the-art Music School, which contains a 140 seat recital hall, an industry-standard recording studio, practice and teaching rooms and a café which will open in the Summer Term, 2017. The school’s commitment to musical excellence is also demonstrated by being an All Steinway School.  The successful candidate will work closely with the Director of Music, John Bowley, overseeing all academic music.

We are looking for a dynamic and exceptional candidate to build on the success of the current department at this exciting time of development. You will be an outstanding teacher and musician who will have the ability to inspire pupils and teachers to maximise the musical potential at Gresham’s.

The School has both boarding and day pupils and runs an extended school day and a vast range of sporting and extra-curricular opportunities. All our academic staff are expected to embrace the co-curricular life at Gresham’s, whether you love Sport, Drama or working on projects with the local community, we have more than enough to keep you busy.

About Gresham's School

Gresham’s is a co-educational boarding and day school for children aged 2-18. It is situated in the Georgian town of Holt in beautiful countryside, just three miles from the breathtaking North Norfolk coast.

The school was founded in 1555 by Sir John Gresham who forged close ties with The Worshipful Company of Fishmongers. On his death, he left the school in their care and strong links with them and the City of London remain to this day.

The school enjoys a generous campus with excellent facilities including a state-of-the-art music building (Britten) with its own recording studio, indoor and outdoor performance spaces including a theatre (Auden), multi-surface sports pitches, tennis courts, swimming pool, sports hall and shooting range. The Dyson Building opened at Gresham’s in September 2021. Sir James Dyson, a former pupil at the school, enabled the innovative new centre for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) education.

The school has an impressive list of Old Greshamians including the composer Benjamin Britten, the poet WH Auden, Oscar winning actress Olivia Colman and international rugby players Tom and Ben Youngs, to name but a few.
