Dulwich College seeks to instil a culture of equity, respect and support for others, and offers inspired teaching, scholarship and learning in and beyond the classroom. A world-leading boys school with 1,630 pupils aged 7-18 years and a co-educational kindergarten and infants school of 230 (DUCKS), the College employs over 600 staff and enjoys a beautiful and historic site covering 70 acres in South London.

The Head of Academic Music is responsible to the Deputy Master Academic and Director of Music for the delivery of the academic Music curriculum throughout the College from DUCKS to Year 13. A broad range of classes are to be taught with emphasis and focus leading to GCSE and A Level. The Head of Academic Music has a significant role in the College’s concert-giving programme.

We would welcome in particular applications from candidates who are able to contribute to the teaching of Music Technology and / or have keyboard and Chamber Music as an area of interest or specialism.

Dulwich College is an academically selective independent boys’ school in south east London with a tradition of inspired teaching, genuine scholarship and co- curricular breadth. We are a school committed to providing a wealth of opportunities to pupils and colleagues within a nurturing, equitable and caring ethos.

There are approximately 1,630 boys on the school roll, of whom some 130 are boarders. There is a strong history of diversity at the College, reflecting that of south east London generally, but also that we are committed to an expanding programme of means-tested access. Currently about 30% of pupils have such an award but we hope to increase this to 50% in the coming years.

Situated in 70 acres, yet only 12 minutes by train from central London, the College enjoys outstanding academic, co-curricular and sporting facilities, including The Laboratory, a RIBA National Award-winning Science and Arts building. There has also been an extensive refurbishment of its iconic Grade II* listed Barry Buildings and surrounding landscaping.
