We are seeking an inspirational and ambitious Head of Academic PE to join our team in September 2025. This is an exciting opportunity for an innovative leader with a passion for academic physical education to make a significant impact on our growing department and our pupils’ educational journey.
About the Role
As Head of Academic PE, you will lead a talented and dedicated team of educators, fostering a dynamic and supportive environment that encourages both staff and pupils to excel. You will bring a clear vision and enthusiasm for the learning and teaching of Academic PE, guiding the department as it expands its offerings and achievements.
About the Department
The Academic PE Department is young but thriving, having successfully introduced GCSE Sports Science and expanded its pupil numbers significantly. With approximately 100 pupils currently taking the GCSE across both year groups and the first A-level cohort set for assessment in June 2026, the department is poised for further growth. We follow the AQA specification at both GCSE and A-level.
The team is experienced, passionate, and committed to delivering the highest standards of education, ensuring outstanding outcomes for all pupils.

The Boarding House teams are at the heart of supporting each young person on their journey through the School. The Heads of House live in the Houses, and are supported by a team of tutors and pastoral staff – two of whom are also residential. The House Teams are supported by a 24-hour Health Centre and pupils also have access to support through the Wellbeing team, counsellors and chaplaincy.
