Job overview

Principal: Ms Lisa Boorman:

We are incredibly proud of our students. They were described by OFSTED in 2016 as ‘courteous and friendly’ students who ‘conduct themselves well’. This was confirmed recently (March 2017) in a further external review by Challenge Partners who commended our students for their ‘very high engagement’, describing them as students who ‘want to learn’ and ‘were resilient’. We are equally proud of our Academy; OFSTED judged the Academy to be ‘Good in 2016 and it was acknowledged by Challenge Partners in 2017 that the Academy is now borderline ‘Outstanding’. This is a reflection of the commitment, talent and growth of all members school community who continually strive to achieve the best.

“I am proud to be Principal of Plympton Academy. Proud of our students and proud of our staff. The school is an exciting place to learn and to work.

We want all students to share that pride – in themselves, and in their school – so that they can learn well and make outstanding progress. I know that all parents want the very best for their children. This is why we have the highest expectations of our students. We expect them to be outstanding, resilient learners and we expect them to behave well in all aspects of school life.

We are passionate about nurturing exceptional, resilient, independent thinkers who are happy and confident individuals, equipped with the skills and knowledge to be the best they are.

Our students are involved in every aspect of school life beyond the classroom: extra-curricular activities are always available and our students play an active role in shaping the future of the school through a wide range of student leadership activities. We aim to ensure that the opportunities that life presents are open to all of our students, whatever their destination. We aim to inspire success.

Lisa Boorman
