Believe Achieve Succeed

Cavendish Close Junior Academy is poised to embark on the next stage of its development, having joined The Harmony Trust at the beginning of this academic year. Following a recent structural reorganisation, we are now looking for an ambitious leader to take on the newly created role of Head of Academy, working alongside a National Leader of Education.

Cavendish Close is a large junior school with 330 pupils on roll, located just outside of Derby in the suburb of Chaddesden. Having moved into a new building in Spring 2016, we have access to great facilities and extensive grounds. We are excited to be the sixth school to join The Harmony Trust and are collectively confident about the future.

As our new Head of Academy, you will be passionate about ensuring all children within our care have equal access to first class opportunities that enhance and enrich their learning experiences. It is essential that you have the skills and ability to galvanise and motivate our recently reshaped staff team, whilst remaining focused on our continued drive to achieve improved outcomes for all.

In this unique role, you will have the chance to accelerate your development and grow rapidly as a whole school leader, within an encouraging and forward-thinking environment. You will have access to high quality support from the trust’s central team, alongside the development and guidance of an inspirational NLE, working in the capacity of Executive Principal within the trust.

So, if you are a passionate, driven leader - looking for a career defining whole school leadership role, we would love to hear from you. To find out more, visit www.joinHarmony.co.uk, or call our recruitment team on 01904 567818, for an informal and confidential discussion.

Cavendish Close Junior Academy is a large school in Chaddesden, a suburb of Derby.  The school is popular and currently draws its pupils from a very varied catchment area.

Our ethos: to encourage children to develop to their full potential and succeed as individuals, and to reward them for their effort, achievement and good behaviour. We provide equality of opportunity and promote high standards in all aspects of school life.

Our values: we have always promoted values which are included in what  are now described as 'British Values', i.e. democracy; the rule of law; individual liberty; mutual respect; and tolerance of those of different faiths and beliefs.

Our vision: we want our pupils to be Curious Confident Children.

Last year was a very exciting year for the school. We moved into our new building ready to start the Spring Term 2016. The school now looks fantastic with beautiful displays in classrooms and in the corridors.

The school occupies extensive grounds with a playing field, sports field and two playgrounds. We have a large hall which can accommodate the whole school for  collective worship and which is also used as a dining room, for physical activities, and to accommodate our many after-school clubs. We also have a studio, which can be used for dance/drama, an ICT suite and a nurture room.
