Robsack Wood is a highly successful Primary Academy and Nursery for children aged 3 months to 11 years, located in St Leonards on Sea, in East Sussex. The Academy is an exciting, exuberant and welcoming Academy with a powerful learning culture which focusses on children having high aspirations thus achieving their potential. Robsack Wood has impressive facilities which ensure our pupils are able to learn in exceptional environments which promote creativity and motivation. Outdoor learning, Forest Schools, an Early Years Village Approach and Extended Schools are unique to Robsack Wood.

At present the Academy has 415 pupils on role aged from 4 to 11 years and a further 105 children within our onsite Nursery which is open 51 weeks of the year.

In September 2016 Robsack Wood was awarded Teaching School Status from the National Teaching College in recognition of its outwardly facing approach to developing high quality training and support for new and inexperienced school staff. Due to this exciting development we are now seeking an inspirational and innovative Head of Academy to work alongside the Executive Principal to continue developing high standards and pupil outcomes across the Academy.

Robsack Wood Primary Academy joined the Hastings Academies Trust on September 2014. Hastings Academies Trust has a long standing commitment to Hastings and developing high quality education for young people. The Trust is committed to collaboration across its academies in order to provide significant opportunities for joint developments, sharing good practice and career progression.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:

  • Substantial experience of primary education including recent experience in school leadership.
  • Experience of developing and implementing educational improvement strategies.
  • Significant knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation, national priorities, the National Curriculum and Statutory Frameworks underpinning educational effectiveness.
