The position of Head of Academy Hospitality, Travel and Tourism and Aviation is a key role within the Faculty of Business and Enterprise, with a high public profile within the Sheffield College and within the Sheffield City Region community.
The Hospitality Department at the Sheffield College has a national reputation built upon years of success locally and in national competitions, and a reputation of continually producing successful students of the highest calibre. This position therefore requires an experienced Hospitality education professional who will build on a legacy and reputation that has been developed over many years and who will maintain the standing of the Sheffield College Hospitality Department as one of the best in the UK with exceptional industry links.
The Academy also has a thriving and expanding award winning Bakery provision, which continues to produce excellent students, this provision includes a Foundation Degree as well as full time and part time courses.
In addition, Travel and Tourism and Aviation are an integral and increasingly vital part of the Academy, offering further opportunity and careers to the aspirational young students of the Sheffield City Region.
You will be responsible for the day to day running of the Academy, you will line manage the teaching staff and have key direct reports from the support staff. You will be responsible for the enrolment, retention and success of your Academy students, for the financial performance of the Academy and for the students overall career progression.
You will report to the Assistant Principal Business and Enterprise, and you will be part of the Faculty Leadership team. You will have peers in the faculty, Head of Academy Business and Head of Academy Hair and Beauty. You will also be supported by peers, the Head of Student Experience, Head of QTLA, Head of English and Maths and Head of Apprenticeships, will all work alongside you to ensure the student experience and outcomes are ever improving.
We would welcome applications from experienced industry professionals, with a good track record in teaching within FE, a recognised teaching qualification, successful leadership and management experience, and a passion for improving the lives of young people and a passion for this role.
