The Role
This is a newly created and exciting opportunity for a Head of Admissions and Marketing who will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic initiatives to drive student enrolment and enhance the school's brand presence. The independent school sector is reshaping in an unprecedented way and requires a new strategic approach to attract and retain pupils. This role requires a creative communicator and results-driven individual with expertise in admissions, marketing and communications. We are looking for applicants who are strong marketeer's who will be able to deliver an ever increasing brand presence for Davenies and someone who is an experienced operator who can manage a broad portfolio and prioritise to deliver strong results for all key stakeholders.
Admissions
- Develop and implement an effective pupil recruitment and retention strategy aligned with the school’s values and objectives for sustained pupil recruitment and retention.
- Manage all aspects of admissions procedures from initial inquiry to enrolment, including timely responses, application management, and admissions tours.
- Deliver best-in-class school tours and maintain excellent service standards.
- Plan and coordinate open mornings and exhibition events, managing budgets and logistics.
- Liaise with internal colleagues and external parties providing a professional but personable approach.
Marketing
In line with the school’s vision, devise and deliver a cohesive and comprehensive marketing strategy to support recruitment and retention.
- In conjunction with the Marketing and Admissions Assistant, developing and coordinating all communications, including advertising and social media, ensuring the continuity of the corporate image and brand.
- Collaborate with the Headmaster in the development of promotional materials for admissions events, including open days and parent information sessions.
- Measure the success of external communications and brand advertising
- Lead the production of newsletters and social media posts to foster productive relations with pupils, parents and the local community.
- Ensure good internal communications through regular meetings and briefings with the Headmaster, and with other relevant staff.
- Coordinate the development and continuous improvement of the School’s website to ensure it is appealing, up to date, accurate and relevant.
- In coordination with the Headmaster, attend relevant School events and arrange any marketing or public relations aspects for such occasions.
Communications
-Ensure all communications, both internal and external are recognisable, consistent and reflect the school brand.
- Manage communications with parents, prospective parents and the wider community through the termly school magazine (The Buzz), weekly newsletter (the ebee), Flickr, Twitter (X), Facebook, the School’s website and other social media.
- Manage daily messages and updates to the school network.
- Co-ordinate with Friends of Davenies and assist with the dissemination of information and publicity for their events.
- Working with the Assistant Head in maintaining links and communication with the School’s Alumni, and preservation of the School’s limited archives.
Events
-Ensure all internal and externalevents, and any relevant communication surrounding these are consistent with and reflect the school brand.
- Co-ordinate and promote the School’s Open Mornings for prospective parents
- Support and promote whole school events and celebrations including school drama productions, World Book Day, etc.
- Assist the Charity Coordinator with the coordination, communication and celebration of charity initiatives in the School.

In addition, the School hosts a range of visiting music, LAMDA and extra-curricular activity tutors.
