Job overview

SENIOR SCHOOL

Rugby School Thailand is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all the students in our care and expects all applicants to share this commitment. We follow safe recruitment practice and appointments are subject to an interview, identity and criminal record checks, and satisfactory references.

Rugby School Thailand’s Senior School will open for pupils in Years 9, 10, and 12 in September, 2018.

Rugby School Thailand is the first overseas school partnered by Rugby School UK, and it will share Rugby UK’s ethos and ‘whole person’ vision for its pupils. Rugby UK will be involved in the recruitment of senior staff and will play a key role in formulating school policies and ensuring that the high standards of Rugby School are maintained.

As such, Rugby School Thailand, unlike most international schools, will be structured according to the very best of the UK independent school model, with a Pre-Prep, a Prep and a Senior School. The School will focus upon breadth of experience, character development and, of course, academic achievement.

The Senior School will share our 80 acre campus with the Pre Prep and Prep schools.

State-of-the-art specialist teaching buildings, spacious and comfortable boarding houses, and magnificent sporting facilities will stand Rugby School Thailand apart from other schools in South East Asia.

We are seeking to appoint a dynamic Head of Art and Design. She/he will be an experienced teacher who has had success teaching Art and Design throughout the senior years, including A Level. She/he will be creative and innovative, a teacher who will inspire the talents of our Art and Design students. The Head of Art and Design will have the enviable task of advising on the design of the Art and Design rooms at the School. The opportunity to develop an outstanding new Art and Design facility awaits the successful applicant.

RUGBY SCHOOL THAILAND

Rugby School Thailand is a co-educational day and boarding international school set in 74 acres of glorious Thai countryside south of Bangkok. It aspires to be one of Asia’s leading British-curriculum schools. It opened its doors in 2017 and today educates 800 pupils aged 2 to 18 in its purpose-built Pre-Prep, Prep School and Senior School. The school roll will continue to grow towards an expected capacity of 1,200 pupils.

Rugby School Thailand is selective and the student roll comprises approximately 55% expatriate and 45% Thai pupils. It is situated in stunning countryside in the district of Chonburi, approximately 12 miles from Pattaya’s coastline and 90 minutes by car from the centre of Bangkok. Rugby School Thailand is a member of the Rugby School Group and the first sister school of Rugby School, one of the UK’s most famous boarding schools. The Executive Leadership Group at Rugby UK plays a significant role in supporting and developing the school so that it authentically reflects the aims and ethos of Rugby and thus bears comparison with the very best of the UK independent school sector.
