This Independent day and boarding School requires an ambitious and passionate Head of Art to lead, provide strategy and promote pupils’ engagement, both within the curriculum and beyond the classroom.
The Appointee will be a suitably qualified and enthusiastic advocate of the Arts and may have prior knowledge of the AQA Art and Design Exam Board criteria and head of department experience. Felsted pupils are fortunate to have wonderful facilities and specialist teachers to study art as part of the curriculum, co-curricular activities and as a hobby. All forms of art are studied, from still life drawings and paintings to ceramics and textiles.
The successful person must have excellent subject knowledge and the ability to teach a wide range of media/forms of art would be beneficial. The post holder will need to lead and line manage staff, organise and attend various art trips, hold an annual Felsted Art Exhibition and teach art and design at GCSE, A Level and International Baccalaureate level. As with all academic staff at Felsted, the appointee will be expected to play a full part in the school’s boarding and co-curricular programme.
This is a significant role at Felsted, which will provide the opportunity for the right person to showcase their creative and leadership skills within a growing business and in return, provide an opportunity to enhance their career within a prestigious environment.
