Job overview
Head of Art
Required for April 2022
We are looking for a qualified art teacher to take over as head of our strong and highly regarded art department.
This Head of Department role will involve teaching art at all levels upto Year 8 including preparing pupils for art scholarships to their senior schools.
The Head of Art is expected to encourage use of the art room during free time either as part of our extra-curricular activities programme or via extension art sessions in breaks, the evenings or at weekends.
It will be essential to show a willingness to be fully involved in the life of a busy boarding school. Maidwell Hall is a 7 day-a-week school but there are generous holidays and half terms in addition to long leave out weekends (Fridays 12.30pm to Mondays 19.30pm) two or three times a term.
Staff members are required to help with activities and outings on some Sundays.
Candidates are requested to complete the School's Application Form and to submit it, together with a hand-written letter of application and typed CV, to the Headmaster.
Short-listed candidates will be invited for interview as soon as possible after applications have been received.
The closing date for applications is Friday 15th October.
About Maidwell Hall School
Maidwell Hall is a co-educational boarding and day school, educating pupils from Reception through to Year 8. Situated in a beautiful part of Northamptonshire, pupils at Maidwell Hall are encouraged by a dedicated team of staff to make the most of the 40+ acres of parkland, woodlands, lake and sports fields. At the heart of the school estate is a 17th century manor house, and all these factors combine to provide the perfect place for young children to learn and grow throughout their formative years.
With a Pre-Prep which opened in 2020, Maidwell Hall is growing and currently educates 135 pupils: around 50% of pupils fortnightly or flexibly board. In September 2022, Maidwell Hall joined the Uppingham Group of Schools (UGS), and the recent merger starts the School’s next chapter, which will arguably be its most exciting and ambitious.
