Head of Biology

For September 2019, we are seeking to appoint an inspirational Head of Biology with an energetic passion for their subject and the desire to nurture and challenge young scientists. This role would suit either an experienced Head of Department looking for an exciting new challenge, or a talented biology teacher seeking their first middle leadership role. Within this post, there may also be the chance for a suitable candidate to teach and lead A Level Psychology, in addition to biology, with appropriate additional remuneration.

Facilities for biology include four specialist laboratories, project labs, an eco-classroom and extensive Victorian water gardens. This is an exceptional opportunity for the right candidate.

Benenden is one of the leading boarding schools in Britain. We were founded in 1923 and are situated in 250 acres of attractive parkland in Kent. There are 555 girls in the school, aged 11-18. Benenden is at the forefront of girls’ education in the UK, with recent innovations including the Benenden Diploma, a bespoke curriculum for our youngest two year groups, and the Professional Skills Programme, teaching the Sixth Form skills for the workplace. We are an ambitious school, with recent developments including a state-of-the-art Science Centre and All-Weather Sports Pitch, and we are currently working to establish a new School Hall and Music School.
