DCY is currently seeking a Head of Boarding to start in August 2021.

Dulwich College Yangon is the first International School in the country to offer boarding. We are looking to appoint an experienced and enthusiastic Head of Boarding to develop this exciting and pioneering venture.

The top-quality accommodation is located close to the site of the Star City Campus and provides a great opportunity to shape the future of boarding at the school. Boarding is offered to girls and boys in Years 7 to 12 (growing upwards as the school develops). The boarding house and school are very well resourced, in the tranquil and secure surroundings of Star City, 30 minutes from downtown Yangon. The school boosts the best sports facilities in the country, with a 50m Olympic swimming pool, a training pool, a double gym, extensive sports pitches and access to an outstanding golf course. This is a unique professional opportunity, in a very exciting school, within this fascinating country.

The position also entails teaching a subject in the Senior School on a reduced timetable with an allowance commensurate with the Head of Boarding Role role.

The DCY Head of Boarding works with the College Leadership Team to provide and promote a safe, caring, happy, homely, and organised environment for boarding students while living on campus.

Applications are therefore invited from highly resourceful, collegially minded and forward-thinking practitioners who can demonstrate that they are:

  • genuinely interested in making a positive and proactive contribution to a young, maturing school
  • eager to engage with the local community and help contribute to the development of the country outside of the school
  • able to use ICT to support and enhance learning is expected

At least 2 years teaching and boarding experience is required, regardless of nationality. All applicants should hold a Bachelor’s degree in Education, or a first degree plus a post-graduate qualification in education (i.e. PGCE). All teachers must hold UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
