Merton Court is the ideal Independent Co-educational Day School. It is Sidcup's oldest established preparatory school, founded in 1899 situated in the London Borough of Bexley.

The school set in a beautiful 17 acre site has extensive indoor and outdoor sporting facilities onsite including an Astroturf and 25m indoor swimming pool; playschemes for at least 5 weeks of the holiday periods, before and after school clubs; activities, in our own Forest School; exciting outdoor learning areas in our 'Excellent' (Ofsted 'Outstanding') Early Years Foundation Stage.

  • You will have proven ability in the teaching of PE and to plan a programme of work suitable for an age range of 3–11 years, alongside our Head of Girls’ Games
  • You should be able to teach and coach swimming to all levels and have experience of non-swimmers from 3 – 11 years
  • As the co-ordinator for Boys’ games you will work closely with the Head of Girls’ Games, organising and hosting inter-school’s events and training sports teams to compete at all levels from local Borough, County, Regional to National Level
  • You will report back to parents during the term with written reports and grade children throughout the year, keeping individual records of each child’s achievements and progression in all sports under their guidance
  • You will be asked to be directly involved in the planning of a range of clubs and events during the year
  • Qualifications: Teachers Certificate to include PE as specialist or secondary subject, relevant Multi-Sports qualifications, a swimming coaching certificate or other coaching qualification, an up-to-date Lifeguard qualification to include First Aid
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to the school’s traditions, vision and values
