We wish to appoint an outstanding teacher to lead the provision of Boys’ PE and Games at NULS. The successful candidate will be expected to offer excellent leadership as they develop and manage all of our leading sports programmes for boys and work closely with the likes of our heads of Rugby, Hockey and Cricket to create an inclusive and competitive sporting environment. They will also be able to teach GCSE and A level PE and forge an excellent working relationship with our Head of Girls’ PE and Games to enable our highly ambitious Sports Department to fulfil its strategic goals.

NULS is Staffordshire’s largest and oldest HMC school teaching approximately 840 girls and boys across Juniors, Seniors and Sixth Form. NULS was founded c.1602 and its sporting tradition and calibre is renowned in the area. Our 30 acre site offers impressive facilities including extensive playing fields and pitches, a wonderful Cricket pitch and pavilion, Swimming Pool, Floodlight Astro, Junior and Senior Netball and Tennis courts, Sports Hall and more, which we are currently seeking to add to as we enter planning and propose the build of a second larger state-of-the-art Sports Hall. 

Newcastle-under-Lyme-School is the region’s leading independent school and attracts pupils aged 3-18, from a large area of North Staffordshire, South Cheshire and North Shropshire.  The school sits on an attractive site in close proximity to Newcastle-under-Lyme town centre.  The school has an enviable reputation for academic excellence and is also well known for its high standards in sport, music and drama.

With Manchester and Birmingham less than an hour away and excellent rail and road links, the school is in an advantageous position within the country.  Newcastle-under-Lyme itself is surrounded by small towns and pretty villages and is in easy reach of the Peak District and North Wales.

Newcastle-under-Lyme School, which attracts pupils from  Staffordshire, Cheshire, Shropshire, Derbyshire and Telford and Wrekin, is a co-educational day school for pupils aged 2 -19.
