We are seeking to appoint a dynamic, innovative and ambitious individual to lead and develop our busy, but successful Business Studies Department from September 2018.
You will have strong leadership skills, be committed to pursuing excellence and have a clear vision of how you will develop your department and team within the school. As Head of Business you will be responsible for Business Studies at KS4 and KS5, which includes A Level Business & Economics, BTEC National Business (Single/Double Award) and GCSE, you will also be the Lead Internal Verifier and if OSCA accreditation is not already in place, then this must be achieved within your first year in post.
We require a leader who will enhance and develop their subject to ensure maximum outcomes for students. If that’s you, then you will need to be hardworking, dedicated to ensuring students of all abilities can succeed and, crucially, a fantastic classroom teacher. Our recent Young Enterprise teams have been particularly successful and this can be attributed to the exceptional efforts, leadership and guidance of our Business Studies team at PRS. So if you feel you have something to give, please apply.
PRS is an innovative and aspirational school that is driven by the highest expectations in everything we do. We offer rich and diverse learning environments and work hard to ensure everyone succeeds on a pastoral, extra curricular and academic basis.
We are an over-subscribed, innovative and dynamic school in the heart of Buckinghamshire situated in a semi-rural market town between High Wycombe and Aylesbury. Recent consultant reports and external judgements have assured us we are progressing effectively on our journey towards ‘Good’ and beyond and your skills and knowledge, hard work and dedication will be central to our achieving this goal in the year of your appointment.
You will be an outstanding, student-centred classroom practitioner possessing a depth of subject knowledge and an ability to inspire and enthuse our wonderful students. You’ll be fully acquainted with the demands and requirements of the new KS4 and KS5 curricula. Importantly, our new colleague will also wish to become part of the team that ensures all of our children 'Enjoy & Achieve'!
The school is nestled in the foothills of the Chilterns and is surrounded by an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB); the vistas from our school sites and playing fields are some of the finest in the United Kingdom and we are surrounded by a rich and diverse environment, both in a historical and geographical context. We are also only 45 minutes from London and all of the main arterial routes heading to the north, south, east and west of the country. London Heathrow airport is only 30 minutes away, with four of the other main airports only within an hours car journey away. The River Thames and the City of Oxford are also only 30 minutes away, so we have something for everyone and our local mantra is very much 'location, location, location'!
