As the Business Department at Rossall School continues to evolve and grow, a superb opportunity has become available for a dynamic and experienced practitioner to lead the Business Department from September 2023. The successful applicant will be an outstanding leader with a strong commitment to ensuring that all pupils within the department achieve excellent examination results (from a value-added perspective) and develop a lifelong interest in and love of this subject.

The position of Head of Business at Rossall School offers an exciting opportunity to lead a team of colleagues at various stages of their careers in a collaborative and mutually supportive environment. The Business department is well resourced and there is a dynamic and collegiate approach to the sharing of best practice. There is significant collaboration with the Economics department and the ability to also teach Economics would be an advantage.

Economics and Business are exceptionally popular at the school. Currently there are five teachers within teaching across both disciplines and all teaching takes place in a designated faculty area. Classrooms are well equipped with good audio visual resources.. 

We offer courses in EDEXCEL A Level Business and AQA A Level Economics. We also offer courses at both Higher and Standard level for the International Baccalaureate in Economics and Business Management. An encouraging number of our Sixth Form students choose to study Economics, Business Management or Finance subjects at university, and each year our year 13 students have an impressive selection of offers from top institutions. Students are well prepared for the entrance exams for competitive degree courses, and are encouraged to participate in national competitions such as The John Locke Essay competition or the Royal Economics Society competition.
