Ashville College, Harrogate, is looking to appoint an experienced, dynamic and dedicated Head of Business Studies, Economics and Enterprise to lead the Department into a new and exciting phase.
The successful candidate will be an outstanding practitioner and an inspiring role model who has a genuine interest in each and every pupil’s academic and holistic education. They must be a strong leader and manager who is able to enthuse the team to achieve its full potential. She or he will also lead the whole college co-curricular enterprise provision (including the LEAP programme). Ashville operates a Future Ready programme to enable our senior pupils to be ready with relevant skills for the workplace – there may be opportunities for involvement in this.

Ashville College is a co-educational, independent school for day and boarding pupils aged 2–18. The college, set in Harrogate, North Yorkshire, comprises a pre-school, prep school and senior school with pupil numbers totaling around 870, 170 of whom are in the sixth form and 100 are boarders. The school is a registered charity, administered by Ashville College Trustees.
Ashville College was founded in 1877 as a boarding school for boys by the United Methodist Free Church. Expansion over the decades culminated in a merger with Elmfield College, Harrogate, in the 1930s, by which time Ashville was the largest private school in the north of England. The most significant development came in 1982 when the school become co-educational.
