Job overview

Chilton Bridge School is a brand new independent residential special school for pupils aged 6 – 19 near Yeovil, Somerset.

We are looking to recruit a Head of Care who has a passion for caring for students who require specialist support to overcome their barriers to learning.

This exciting opportunity offers the rare chance to lead the opening of a brand new 38 week residential provision within the beautiful school setting, with exceptional support from the Spaghetti Bridge group; the perfect balance of autonomy and influence with help and advice from experienced, child-centered professionals.

Chilton Bridge School residential provision is designed to accommodate up to 19 students during term time.

We value leaders who think creatively and are able to find new solutions to the challenges we face in education and society. Our relational approach will be modelled by the successful candidate, who will demonstrate a compassionate, emotionally intelligent leadership style.

The school will support children with additional barriers to learning through needs associated with SEMH and ASC and will offer day and weekly / termly residential placements. Prior knowledge and experience of children residential practices will be essential, but support from the Principal and detailed specialist support and guidance will be available.

We are strongly committed to providing high quality professional development for all our staff. As part of a growing group, we will be able to offer significant opportunities to work in collaboration with colleagues from across the group in order to develop innovative practice.

The wellbeing of our staff is an important priority therefore we provide opportunities to ensure we value their hard work and dedication and promote a healthy work-life balance.

We are constantly reviewing our practices to ensure that our staff can focus on what matters: providing a rich environment in which children and young adults can learn and thrive.
