Head of Careers, 39 weeks per year

About the role
A permanent appointment has arisen for a dynamic Head of Careers to provide strategic leadership in managing the careers provision, including supporting students in the development of employable skills.
The Head of Careers is a new role which will have responsibility for providing first class guidance to our students to inform their career planning. Duties will include, but are not limited to, supporting and developing careers education lessons and events; recording, tracking and analysing student data; the implementation of a programme for employer engagement whilst ensuring compliance with statutory careers guidelines. The Head of Careers will also be responsible for the line management of the Career's Co-Ordinator. Availability during the GCSE and A Levels results period will be necessary due to the nature of the role.
The ideal candidate will possess proven expertise in this field with an understanding of education, employment and training. Ideally, the successful candidate will have experience of working within the education sector, or a closely related area. Excellent interpersonal skills are essential to the role, along with the ability to motivate and energise others. The successful applicant will also have the ability to interact with College staff at all levels of the organisation, and with external stakeholders, including parents.
