Head of Centre

About the role

We are looking for an experienced teacher with a passion for, and significant knowledge and experience of outdoor education to join us as Head of Centre. You will help deliver on its priorities, including developing income generation.

Trewern Outdoor Education Centre is a residential facility set in spacious grounds near the Welsh border town of Hay-on-Wye and owned and operated by the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham. This challenging and rewarding role that will require occasional travel to London, as well as a flexible approach to lead an manage a Centre that is frequently operational 7 days a week.

About you

You must have QTS and a Higher Education qualification, significant experience of working in both the outdoors and a residential setting, hold a minimum of two appropriate NGBs and preferably a higher-level outdoor education qualification. Ability to drive a minibus is essential, as well and extensive knowledge of safeguarding in outdoor education settings and experience of managing teams.
