We have an exciting opportunity for an inspiring and dedicated teacher of Chemistry, to join a strong, dynamic and supportive department. Candidates wishing to apply should have a passion for their subject and the ability to teach to GCSE and Advanced level.

Our students routinely achieve excellent results. In 2022, 86% of students achieved grade 4+ in GCSE Combined Science, 93% in GCSE Biology, 90% in GCSE Chemistry and 93% in GCSE Physics. Biology, Physics and Chemistry are popular at Advanced level and many students go on to study Science at Higher Education.

Ranelagh is an 11-18 coeducational, Anglican Academy (converter) which is oversubscribed and has an excellent reputation for academic achievement and positive school ethos. The school has had four ‘outstanding’ OFSTED reports, with Grade 1 across all areas, but we are not complacent and as such the provision for professional learning and development is something of which we are all very proud.

About Ranelagh Church of England School

Ranelagh Church of England School is a mixed Church of England academy secondary school and sixth form for pupils aged 1-18. It is located in Bracknell, Berkshire, and has about 990 pupils.

The school was founded by lord Ranelagh, and can trace its roots back to 1709. The school became a Church of England academy, supported by the diocese of Oxford, in 2011. It is also a “Beacon School”.

Values and vision

The motto of the Ranelagh School is: Coelitus Mihi Vires, which translates as “My Strength is from Heaven”. The school aims to develop the following characteristics in students: confidence, resilience, curiosity, empathy, creativity and independence.

Teachers at Ranelagh aim to use information, data and individual students’ classwork and homework to tailor lessons that will challenge and engage them. The school aims to intervene to challenge misunderstanding, extreme views and promote high moral principles.

Activities in lessons aim to be relevant, interesting and to spark curiosity. Students are encouraged to learn actively teachers aim to make learning memorable and meaningful

The school  has specialisms in visual arts, business and enterprise, and mathematics and computing.
