We are looking for a committed, enthusiastic, and experienced teacher to lead this high performing and popular department.

The successful applicant is expected to lead the department in a manner which inspires and enthuses both staff and students, drawing on the latest resources and teaching methods whilst delivering the Chemistry curriculum to A level and University entrance specifications. The successful candidate will also foster departmental activities outside of timetabled lessons to broaden and sustain interest. There is a  strong focus on the development of students’ independent learning skills throughout the School, and students rise to the high expectations and challenges set.

A willingness to offer support to other aspects of the extra-curricular life of the school, including boarding, is assumed.

The Schools are part of the great heritage of Stamford and a symbol of its vibrancy and evolution. The Schools have been established in Stamford since 1532, providing a first class education for children. Today the Schools remain interwoven with Stamford life, to which our students, teachers and parents contribute greatly. The schools educate 1650 pupils at the Stamford Junior School for children aged 2-11, Stamford School for students aged 11-16, and Stamford Sixth Form for students aged 16-18.

This is a really exciting time to be joining the School as after nearly 500 years as a boys’ school and 200 years as a girls’ school, we have joined together as a fully co-educational school. This restructure is giving us the opportunity to look at all aspects of school life with fresh eyes, and we are looking at everything from how we provide the best possible pastoral care to how we shape the timetable, how we make best use of our estate, to how AI can support classroom learning. It is a big change, but a once in a generation opportunity to really set up the School for the next hundred years.
