We are excited to be looking for a dynamic, forward-thinking Head of Department who is inspiring and an energetic leader with a real passion for Computer Science and ICT. You will be a motivated, enthusiastic and driven individual who has the skills and determination to make a significant difference to the lives of our students and share our single goal of ‘Students First’. This is an excellent opportunity for an inspiring subject specialist with exceptional communication and management skills to lead our dedicated and well-qualified team. You will have leadership experience and will work alongside a fantastic team to continue to achieve the highest possible outcomes for students irrespective of their backgrounds or starting points.

Outwood Academy Carlton is situated in North East Barnsley and is easily accessible from South and West Yorkshire, with Wakefield, Sheffield, Doncaster, Huddersfield and Pontefract all within commuting distance. We are just five miles from the M1.  

We were delighted to receive a ‘good’ judgement in our recent Ofsted inspection. Inspectors recognised that “Staff morale is high” and that “A well-considered programme of professional development ensures that staff continuously improve their skills and knowledge”.  We are very proud of the way in which we have transformed the school in every possible way and you can be part of the next stage of our journey.
