Peter Symonds is a vibrant sixth form college in Winchester which has been rated by Ofsted as ‘outstanding’ in every respect. We have a large team of committed and talented staff who are at the heart of the success of the College.

We have nearly 200 students studying A level Computer Science and, as a result of retirements from the team, seek a new Head of Subject from September 2019. It is a rare opportunity for someone passionate about the subject to develop the area and build on its success to date. In addition to the management salary, you will have three sessions a week remission from a full time contract. Staff in the team work closely and cross teach with the IT teaching team for which there is a separate Head of Subject.

You will be an experienced and successful Teacher of the subject and excellent team player. You may have management experience, but equally this may be your first formal leadership role.

We would also advise you that posts advertised to start in September 2019 actually commence with student enrolment on Tuesday 27 August 2019.  Teaching staff are required to work this week but should you have an existing commitment please make this clear on your application and we will honour it.

Closing date:  12 noon on Thursday 2 May 2019

Interview date: Wednesday 15 May 2019
