Job overview

This is an exciting opportunity for a well-qualified and committed Head of Computer Science to lead the teaching of the subject through Key Stages 3-5 in this ambitious and thriving independent school.  The successful candidate will play the lead role in academic Computer Science with oversight of teaching and learning, curriculum development, budget and departmental strategy.  

The department currently teaches the AQA specification at GCSE and at A Level. GCSE pupils learn basic programming with Python and complete a programming project in their final year of GCSE. At A Level, programming is taught using Java with Netbeans IDE, with GUI Interface used for A Level project work.  

The school has two well-equipped, specialist IT suites which provide a quiet, productive environment for teaching.
