Since its opening in 2003 as the second 11-19 school in the now six-strong Emmanuel Schools Foundation, The King’s Academy has made exceptional provision for students in Coulby Newham and the surrounding areas of south Middlesbrough. The vision of the Emmanuel Schools Foundation is to provide excellence in academic achievement for students of all abilities within a biblical Christian framework that allows for personal, spiritual, moral and social development. Provision is fully inclusive with a highly diverse intake, valuing all students and staff equally.
We require, for September 2020, a passionate and highly motivated Head of Computer Science with the ability to teach Computer Science at Key Stages 3, 4 and 5, including GCSE and Level 3. Previous experience of teaching A-Level Computer Science is not a requirement but would be advantageous.
The Computer Science department is responsible for delivering a range of courses across the Key Stages. The department provides a discrete Computer Science curriculum for 1 period per week in Years 7 and 8; and delivers GCSE and A level courses starting from Year 9. Computer Science is a popular subject at both GCSE and Level 3. The department comprises the Head of Department and two specialist teachers.
If you believe you have the vision and commitment to work in an Academy which seeks to raise achievement, setting consistently high standards for yourself, your team, and your students, please do contact us.
