From September, 2018 we are looking to appoint an innovative and enthusiastic Head of Computer Science to lead the Computing Department within our Vocational and Computing Area. The Computing Department is established at the forefront of the development of Computer Science as a secondary subject: we were one of the first Lead Schools in the CAS Network of Excellence, the school boasts a CAS Hub, and has facilitated the designation of two CAS Master Teachers.
The department has a progressive KS3 curriculum, offers both Computer Science pathways at KS4, and Computer Science A level and BTEC IT at KS5. Our results at both GCSE and A level outperform other centres every year. Ideally, the post-holder will also lead the development of the School’s VLE.
We are looking for an excellent Computing teacher seeking to lead a successful department and to continue its excellent work in curriculum development. Applicants should be interested in subject pedagogy and open to partnership working with other schools in the local area, including feeder primaries. This is an excellent opportunity for a teacher ready to share their passion for computer science beyond their classroom.
SWCHS has is judged by Ofsted as outstanding in every category. The school has a national reputation for innovative educational practice and is committed to the importance of extra-curricular opportunities. We hold “Gold” awards from Sport England and the Arts Council. All staff benefit from high quality professional development.
Applications are invited from dedicated and energetic teachers who understand the imperative for the highest standards.
A recruitment package, including some financial assistance, is available. Childcare voucher scheme. Early years nursery on site.
