Head of Computer Science

As the school moves into an exciting phase of its digital strategy, with the implementation of O365 and the roll out of Surface devices to staff and girls, Computing will play a major role in the innovative work that will take place over the coming years. This will provide an aspirational and strategic Head of Department with the platform on which to build on the strong tradition of computing at Francis Holland. With GCSE Computer Science already well established as a GCSE option at the school we are now looking to offer Computer Science at A Level from September 2023. The incoming Head of Department will therefore be instrumental in leading on the introduction of this important subject at A Level and building further on the successes of the department. It is therefore a must that the right candidate will be able to teach Computer Science through Key Stages 3, 4 and at A Level. Full-time and part-time (to a minimum of 0.6fte) applications will be considered.
Francis Holland School, Regent’s Park, was founded in 1878 and is regarded today as one of London’s most academically selective girls’ independent day schools. Entry to the school is very competitive; girls achieve exceptionally good results in examinations at GCSE and A Level, and progress to some of the best universities in the UK, as well as to top global institutions such as those in the US. There are close links with our “sister” school at Francis Holland, Sloane Square, which was founded in 1881.
The school places great emphasis on the professional development of its entire staff. Staff at Francis Holland School enjoy a significant range of professional benefits.
