Fulneck School is an independent day and boarding school for boys and girls aged 3-18.  We are situated in a traditional English village just 5 miles from Leeds city centre. With easy access by air, rail and road, yet set in the beautiful Yorkshire countryside, Fulneck School is an ideal choice for parents looking for a day or boarding school for their children.

We pride ourselves on setting high expectations for every individual, instilling good manners and fostering an ethic of hard work. Our community is enriched by the cultural diversity of our pupil body, with day pupils coming to us from across Yorkshire and boarders from all over the world. Pupils experience outstanding opportunities inside and outside the classroom, learning how to work in a team and how to provide the leadership that our society needs.

We are a small school and therefore offer a more personalised education than many other schools. This website can only give a flavour of what Fulneck School has to offer. Please do come and visit – you will always be made welcome at Fulneck School.

Values and vision

Fulneck School wants to offer students a happy, supportive and nurturing learning environment for them to grow and learn in. It hopes to challenge and encourage pupils to reach their full potential in all areas of the curriculum, celebrating their achievements and success. A good relationship with parents is important to Fulneck School, and it works to maintain effective communication with them on a regular basis. The school teaches students to respect each other and themselves, while promoting its Christian values of care, compassion, humanity, honesty and integrity. Boarders are offered a happy and homely environment where they can excel in a caring, family-like atmosphere. The school offers a wide range of educational trips around Leeds and further afield. It encourages students to discover new hobbies and interests and nurture their talents with a broad range of extra-curricular clubs, including The Duke of Edinburgh Award.

Independent School Inspectorate

“Pupils are confident in their knowledge, understanding and skills. In both the junior and the senior school, written work is extremely well presented and pupils produce some extended writing of good quality. Pupils are articulate and communicate their ideas effectively”.
