Blue Coat is a successful and oversubscribed school in the heart of the city of Coventry.  As a Christian school our intake draws from both the local area and across the city and surrounding areas.  Consequently we have a diverse intake and a culturally thriving school.  The school was graded ‘Outstanding’ in its recent SIAMS inspection and ‘Good’ by Ofsted in June 2016 and continues to perform exceptionally well academically.  Our average grade at GCSE is 53.69 and our Progress 8 score is +0.31.  The vast majority of our students stay on into the sixth form and continue their studies.

We have a large and successful Post 16 provision with over 300 pupils studying either A levels or Vocational courses.  We are consistently in the top performing sixth forms in the city and we have excellent rates of progression to universities, apprenticeships and employment. 

The department currently consists of 4 full time members of teaching staff, some of whom also teach Business.  Students study a range of courses at KS4 including OCR iMedia and Computing GCSE. Students study A level Computing in the Sixth Form.

We are looking for someone who is an excellent classroom practitioner who is committed to providing the very best outcomes for all of our students.  You will be passionate about the role of Computing and be able to teach both at Key Stages 3, 4 and 5.  You will also be responsible for the line management of the Head of Business.  You will provide the vision and strategic direction to a committed and hardworking team and be determined to raise and sustain student progress and achievement.  As a middle leader you will have impact both in your department and across the wider school.
